This fibre rich bread may lower blood pressure, body inflammation, and blood clotting.

Makes a 1 lb bread.


  • 2 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tablespoon dry yeast (regular)
  • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup water, luke warm
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 7 tablespoon Salba®, whole or ground

Cooking Instructions

  • Mix together flour, sugar, salt, and Salba®
  • Gradually mix the dry yeast into the luke warm water, then add to the dough mix, stirring with a wooden spoon as you work it slowly.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Put in a greased bowl, turn to coat the top, cover and put in a warm place for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the dough has doubled in bulk.
  • Punch down, turn out onto a floured surface again and knead for 2 minutes, Return to greased bowl, cover and let rise again for about 1 hour.
  • After the second rise, put it in a baking pan (9 inch x 5 inch).
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for about 55 minutes. The top of the loaf should spring back when lightly pressed.
